You are writing every report twice
Once on site, once at the desk
Notes and photos on the job, then the whole report again that evening from memory and a camera roll. The second pass is where the hours go, and where detail gets lost.
The same defect, in four places
A cracked lintel goes in the photo caption, the defect register, the executive summary and the scope of works. Change the wording once and three copies are now wrong.
The client wanted it yesterday
Pre-purchase deadlines and cooling-off periods do not wait for your reporting night. Every day between inspection and delivery is a day you are chased.
Built for the way an inspection actually runs
A defect register that fills itself
Every finding you capture rolls up into the defects table automatically, numbered and ordered to match the document. Reword the finding and every table follows.
Standards, cited properly
Attach a standard to any finding. The code, title and diagram cite themselves into your tables, so the reader sees exactly what the defect is measured against.
A PDF that navigates itself
Tap a photo number in the defect table and land on the image. Tap the finding number on the photo and jump back. Your client never scrolls looking for the picture.
Compass-tagged photos
Set the bearing with a drag of the ring before you shoot. "North-east elevation" is recorded with the image, not remembered later.
Works in the subfloor
Roof spaces, subfloors, basements, paddocks. Full editing with zero signal; everything queues and syncs the moment you are back in range.
Your letterhead, not ours
Your logo, letterhead, footer, fonts and colours. Stamp DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL across every page while it is still under review.
Sections built for inspection reports
Reports are built from blocks you drag into the order you want. These are the ones this work leans on most.
- Photo Findings
- Defects Table
- Defect Summary
- Scope of Works
- Document Register
- Attendance Log
- Signature
Questions
- Does it work without internet?
- Yes. Capture and full report editing work completely offline, which is the point — subfloors and roof spaces have no signal. Changes queue on the device and sync as soon as you reconnect.
- Can I cite Australian Standards against a finding?
- Yes. The standards library holds your codes, titles and diagrams. Attach one to a finding and it cites itself into the defect table and the finding text, so you are not retyping clause numbers.
- Can I use my own report template?
- Yes. Build a template once with your chapters, headings and standing text, and every new report starts from it. Templates are reusable across jobs and across your team.
- What does the client actually receive?
- A branded PDF, emailed from the app or sent as a secure link. If it is a cost estimate you can send it for online acceptance and see when they viewed it and when they accepted.
- Can two inspectors work on the same job?
- On Professional and above. Staff management, job-level access control and task assignment come in at the Professional tier, which starts at three team members.
